Well hello, Dennis Söder, new consultant and UX specialist

How did you come to work with UX?

– I’m originally a developer, in Lotus Notes and Domino. But I have almost exclusively developed applications for web clients – first as a consultant and after as an employee for the Swedish Tax Agency, Skatteverket. After that, Java became the platform we used and I continued front end development for web clients. Then I began working with Skatteverket’s UX group and eventually switched to UX on a full time basis. Later I continued to Kronofogden, the Swedish Enforcement Authority, where I encouraged them to invest in UX – and at first I was the only one working on UX there. UX came naturally to me since my main interest has always been how applications work during use, and what happens in the dialogue between an application and the users.

How did you come to work at Tagore?

– Mattias Häggström at Tagore, whom I worked with previously, had asked a number of times and finally I talked with Benny Lundberg, and the company and setup was much better than I thought from the beginning. So I jumped in.

And now you are the UX consultant at Swedish national healthcare site 1177.se. How does that feel?

– Fun! Right now I’m working with how healthcare staff can build forms for the public, so they can carry out tasks for a number of different services themselves. I’m focused and really driving it forwards.

What do you do when you’re not working?

– I’m very interested in food and drink, with a penchant for gin, beer and whisky. My wife and I travel a lot, and food experiences are often the focus.
