Anders W Tell – PhD in architecture and business advantages

You’re just about to defend a thesis. What’s it about?

–  I’m an old enterprise architect and have worked with building global standards and frameworks for large organisations and businesses, and realised how hard it is to turn architecture into business advantages. That’s what I’ve focused on.

Is it a problem that can be solved?

– Yes, the problem is that today’s ideas of catch-all design and architecture create large pictures that no-one really understands or wants to use in their daily work. There is a need to clarify and define what happens in peoples’ everyday lives and work. I have created a compass that will help with that.

What does the compass do?

– It explains what digital transformation is in relation to innovation, digitalisation and digital processes so that you understand what is happening in the digital world and how the way forward could look.

Outside of the digitalisation world, you’re often in Italy. Explain more!

– I have spent some time in Milan, working with their ideas about design, startups and innovation. It’s more often entrepreneurs who want to talk about how their business ideas and designs solve problems, rather than technologists.

And what do you do when you’re not working?

–  I dance tango, do yoga and read Italian.
